Setup guide

Up and running in about 15 minutes

Install Gold EA Pulse on MetaTrader 5 or MetaTrader 4, attach it to gold and set your risk. Then let it run on a VPS.

STEP 01

Get the EA

Open the MT5 or MT4 listing on MQL5 Market. Buy, rent or download the free demo. Purchases install straight into your terminal from the Market tab.

STEP 02

Prepare your account

Use a raw or low-spread account with at least 200 USD and 1:100 leverage. A VPS (or MetaTrader virtual hosting) keeps the EA running 24/5.

STEP 03

Open XAUUSD M5

Open a gold chart (XAUUSD, or your broker's gold symbol such as XAUUSD.r or GOLD) and set the timeframe to M5.

STEP 04

Attach and configure

Drag Gold EA Pulse onto the chart. Choose Mode A or B, fixed lot or risk-%, and turn on stop loss and loss limits if you trade a challenge or a small account.

STEP 05

Set max spread

Adjust the max spread filter to your broker's typical gold spread, so the EA doesn't skip every trade or enter during wide spreads.

STEP 06

Enable Algo Trading

Click Algo Trading (MT5) or AutoTrading (MT4) in the toolbar and allow algorithmic trading in the EA settings. The info panel will show the status.

Backtesting the free demo

  1. Open the Strategy Tester (Ctrl+R) and select Gold EA Pulse.
  2. Choose XAUUSD and the M5 timeframe.
  3. MT5: use Every tick based on real ticks. MT4: use Every tick with good-quality tick data.
  4. Set your real deposit, leverage and lot settings, then run.

The MT5 news filter does not work in the Strategy Tester, and results vary by broker. Always forward-test on a demo account for at least a month before trading live.

Small-account settings

For accounts under 1,000 USD, use a 0.01 fixed lot with stop loss on. In risk-% mode on very small accounts the EA may skip trades when the broker's minimum lot would exceed your chosen risk. That is a safety feature, not a bug.
